WinchestHer Kids: Dear Zoo
Children’s classic Dear Zoo comes to life at Theatre Royal Winchester
Children will be giddy with excitement when the live stage version of the classic book, Dear Zoo, heads to Theatre Royal Winchester from Friday 6 – Saturday 7 September.
Rod Campbell’s international best-seller tells the story of a child who writes to the zoo to ask for a pet. They send a monkey, a lion, even an elephant. Will they ever get it right to send the perfect pet?
This lively theatre adaptation of the timeless ‘lift-the-flap’ book features colourful puppets, original songs and plenty of audience interaction to keep children entertained.
The book, written by Campbell who has also created over 200 childrens books, and published by Macmillan Children’s Books, has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide, and delighted generations of readers since it was first published in 1982.
This production – directed by Michael Gattrell and suitable for children aged 2 – 6 years – will appeal to children who know the story, and serve as a perfect introduction to those yet to enjoy it.
Dear Zoo will be at Theatre Royal Winchester from Friday 6 – Saturday 7 September. Find out more, or book tickets by visiting www.theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call the Box Office on 01962 840 440.
